Newly-engaged actor Ashton Kutcher is happy to be leaving his single days behind him after confessing having multiple one night stands is "just a little gross". The Two and a Half Men star, who reportedly proposed to girlfriend Mila Kunis last week (ends28Feb14), admits he had his fair share of bachelor fun during his youth, and at 36, he is glad he is no longer sleeping around.
He tells Men's Fitness magazine, "Being a single guy can be a lot of fun... when you're financially independent (and) can do whatever you want, whenever you want.
"(But) for every girl you have a good time with for one night, if you want to stay single, that's the same girl that you have to not call back. After a while, being the one-night-stand guy is also just a little gross."
Kutcher was previously married to actress Demi Moore, but the couple split in 2011 and its divorce was finalised in November (13).
Composers behind the scores for Academy Award-nominated movies Gravity, Her, Philomena, Saving Mr. Banks and The Book Thief were given their chance to shine on Thursday (27Feb14) at the first ever Oscar Concert. Best Original Score nominees William Butler and Owen Pallett (Her), Alexandre Desplat (Philomena), Thomas Newman (Saving Mr. Banks), Steven Price (Gravity), and John Williams (The Book Thief) were invited to take to the stage at the University of California, Los Angeles' Royce Hall, three days before Hollywood's big night, to conduct and direct their works in full.
During the special show, which was hosted by rapper/actor Common, five-time Oscar winner Williams was given a round of applause as he declared, "(Movies) wouldn't be what they are and couldn't be made without the service of a great orchestra."
The Best Original Song nominees were also performed, with Jill Scott taking on Pharrell Williams' Happy from Despicable 2, and composer Kristen Anderson-Lopez taking on Idina Menzel's vocals on Frozen's Let It Go.
The Wolf of Wall Street actress Cristin Milioti covered Karen O's The Moon Song from Her, while former The Voice contestant Matt Carmanski belted out U2's Ordinary Love from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Each of the artists behind the nominations for Best Original Song will take to the stage at Sunday's (02Mar14) Oscars in Hollywood.
Singer/actress Lea Michele has detailed the last conversation she had with her late boyfriend Cory Monteith in the lyrics to her new song If You Say So. The brunette beauty was left heartbroken in July (13) when her Glee co-star and real-life partner died from a drug overdose, and she channelled her grief into her songwriting.
Michele opens the ballad with the words, "It's been seven whole days/ Seven whole days since you paralysed me", and goes on to sing, "It's been seven whole days since you lost your fight/ And I can't get the last words that you said/ Can't get those words out of my head/ Seven whole days/ Seven whole days and four words."
In another line, she croons, "Was just a week ago, you said, 'I love you, girl'/ I said, 'I love you more'/ And a breath, a pause/ You said, 'If you say so'/ 'If you say so. If you say so.'"
Discussing the meaning of the track, Michele tells America's Seventeen magazine, "It's about my last conversation that I had with him.
"I spoke to a woman who lost her son, and she mentioned how grateful she was that the last words she said to her son before he died were, 'I love you.' Mine were that as well. (The song) is just about that. There are lots of different emotions - if you could see this person again, what are the things you would want to say to them? It's a personal story."
If You Say So isn't the only song on her debut album, Louder, which was written in Monteith's honour - You're Mine was also inspired by the Canadian actor.
She previously revealed You're Mine was a last-minute addition to the tracklisting, saying, "The album was done, and the label said, 'Do you want to add anything?' I was like, 'I might regret it if I don't'. It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory... When I think if him, I play this."
Pharrell Williams is convinced French dance stars Daft Punk brought his solo career back from the brink of oblivion by inviting him to collaborate with them last year (13). The former N.E.R.D star was unhappy with his 2006 debut solo album In My Mind and thought that part of his career was over until he met the One More Time hitmakers, who asked him to sing on their huge hit single Get Lucky.
Williams says, "It was a dreadful experience (my first album)... I thought my days as an artist were over. I was happy guesting or producing work and that suited me fine. But then Daft Punk and last year happened and it just blew me away and now I'm in an appreciative place and it means more.
"Working with Daft Punk has been a huge part of the journey to where I am today... I was appreciative when I did it and I'm still appreciative of the chance I was given."
Williams went on to land a slot on Robin Thicke's mega-hit Blurred Lines, before scoring success with his own Oscar-nominated single Happy.
His second album GIRL is due for release in March (14).
Girls star Allison Williams is engaged to her boyfriend of three years. Ricky Van Veen, the co-founder of comedy website CollegeHumor.com, recently proposed to the actress - and she said yes, her representative confirms to People.com.
The engagement news comes just days after the beauty, the daughter of U.S. news anchor Brian Williams, admitted she would be happy to quit her TV career to start a family.
The 25 year old told Glamour magazine, "I'd love to be a mum - and not have to bring my kids into my trailer... Or a balance (of both). But you've (got to) call it on the fly to a certain extent."
Actress Julianne Moore has praised Ellen Page for 'coming out' as gay, as the two prepare to play same-sex partners in an upcoming film. Earlier this month (15Feb14), the Juno star revealed she is a lesbian during an emotional speech at the Human Rights Campaign's Time To THRIVE conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since her speech, many celebrities have supported Page's decision to come out as gay in a public forum, including Moore, who will be playing Page's on-screen love interest in a new movie titled Freeheld.
Moore praises Page's fearlessness in an interview with E! News, saying, "It (the speech) was really wonderful. I was very happy for her.... I'm excited about it (out movie). It's great."
Just days before Page's speech, Moore was confirmed to play her lover in the biopic about a terminally-ill police woman's fight for gay rights.
Freeheld won't be Moore's first role as a lesbian - she starred as Annette Bening's partner in The Kids Are All Right, which garnered four Academy Award nods and won two Golden Globes.
Former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh is expecting her first child. The pop star announced the news on Monday (24Feb14) in a post on her Twitter.com page, revealing she is expecting a baby with her long-term boyfriend Justin Scott, a former member of U.K. boyband Triple 8.
She writes, "Justin and I are so happy to let you all know we are having a baby!!! Couldn't wait to share our lovely news with you all."
Walsh's announcement comes just days after her former bandmate Nadine Coyle welcomed a daughter.
Coyle became a first-time mother on 10 February (14).
Former Happy Days star Scott Baio can't understand why young stars dabble with drugs because he was too obsessed with staying fit to pump his body full of pills and powder. The former child star admits he was a handful at times, but he was never interested in drugs and alcohol.
He tells America's Closer magazine, "I was never intrigued by drugs or alcohol. It seemed silly to me; if you were lucky enough to be blessed with a healthy body, why would you do anything to mess with that?"
Though he can't understand stars like Justin Bieber and Lindsay Lohan, who risk it all by dabbling with drugs, he does have some advice for the next generation of pop and Hollywood heroes and heroines, adding, "If you keep your head screwed on, it is an amazing life. That’s my credo."
Simon Cowell's newborn son is already preparing to become a jet-setter after the music and reality TV mogul obtained his baby's first passport at just five days old. The X Factor creator and judge and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed their first child together, son Eric, on Friday (14Feb14) and on Wednesday (19Feb14), the happy couple headed to Manhattan Family Court in New York, where a judge signed an order of filiation, formally acknowledging Cowell as the tot's father in the event of custody or visitation issues.
According to TMZ.com, the new parents also filed papers for Eric's first travel documents and he was subsequently cleared for take-off.
However, the child is unlikely to be boarding a plane anytime soon - medics recommend waiting until babies are at least four weeks old to fly.
But Cowell won't be able to wait around - he is due back in his native U.K. to continue filming for U.K. reality show Britain's Got Talent, on which he is a judge, after jetting across the Atlantic on Friday as his partner went into labour.
Kanye West's romantic proposal to fiancee Kim Kardashian was shared with the world on Sunday (16Feb14) as it aired in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The Stronger hitmaker popped the question to the reality TV star on her 33rd birthday in October (13), and footage of the couple's big moment was finally broadcast in America four months later.
In the episode, Kardashian's extended family, including her siblings Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob, as well as half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, were told to travel to a baseball stadium in San Francisco, California for a black-tie event with just four days' notice.
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner was the only one who knew of West's plans, and assisted by imposing a "social media lockdown" on her family to help keep the plot secret.
Kim, who had been sick the entire day, knew even less than her loved ones, believing she was just going to spend her birthday with West at a romantic dinner.
Inside the stadium, the couple's family and friends were told to hide in the dugouts, with Kourtney saying, "She's (Kim's) just gonna die when she knows we'll all here."
West escorted his blindfolded bride-to-be to the centre of the field, only to reveal a massive orchestra playing one of her favourite songs, Lana Del Rey's Young and Beautiful.
He got down on one knee and said, "I just want to know, If you'll marry me?" as the words "Please Marry Me!!!!" flashed across the big screen.
Kim accepted, slipping the diamond ring onto her finger, before going in for a kiss from her new fiance.
Their family and friends then ran out to congratulate the couple and they celebrated with Champagne and dancing as Kim showed off her Lorraine Schwartz ring, gushing, "It's like the perfect size on my hand. It's really just the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I can't believe I'm engaged... He outdid himself. It feels like I'm in a dream. It's the surprise of a lifetime."
She added, "I'm honestly just so happy I have Kanye to share my life with and we have our family, and we're there to support each other no matter what."
