Snoop Dogg has left fans baffled after taking on the character of a bespectacled white guy for a series of Instagram.com videos.
The rapper donned whiteface make-up, nerdy glasses and a wig to promote a non-existent dating site for men, called WhiteGuysConnect.com. As Todd, the Drop It Like It's Hot hitmaker boasts he likes to "paintball, crochet and do a little spoken word in my free time", and adds, "My bros (sic) want me to tell you about this new website, WhiteGuysConnect, where white guys look for fly single females to have a good time. Give us a call."
It is not clear what the rap icon is hoping to achieve as his alter-ego or whether the videos are just an end-of-the-summer prank.
Today, August 29th, 2014 marks the 21st birthday of Liam Payne. Daddy Direction can legally drink in America! An important thing for us grown-up Directioners. To celebrate the day, we’ve got 21 fun-facts about Liam. Not that boring stuff, like his zodiac sign (Virgo) or his middle name (James, just like his band-mate Niall Horan).
1. He is afraid of spoons. It’s not that weird, it’s kind of cute.
2. Of the band, he’s the only one who comes to work with his hair done. The other band members show up with their hair all over the place, but he won’t leave his house without doing his hair.
3. If he wasn’t a singer, he would make a fabulous journalist:
He might have been drunk, but he actually asked all the questions a fan wanted to know after watching the Brit Awards.
4. His favorite film is the Toy Story trilogy.
5. Liam once told TOTP that he had the best dance moves and he was, “The king of the dance floor!” With his signature 1-2-3 flick. Recognize those moves anywhere?
6. Liam’s dream job, aside from the one he is currently living as a pop-star, is a fire fighter.
7. He once had his underwear stolen (and then later worn) by a fan.
8. If Liam could invent an ice cream flavor, it would be “Krispy Kreme Donut.”
9. He once confessed to owning a pair of pink hair straighteners. We can see the evidence of that here.
10. He has said that Justin Timberlake is one of his biggest inspirations. He also sang “Cry Me A River,” at his 2010 X Factor audition. Good thing too, since look where that got him!
11. Once, he was asked what food he would be, he responded: “I’d be 7 bananas because it’s too much potassium and that’s dangerous.” Gotta love a bad boy.
12. His favorite color is still purple (had to include this because it’s adorable).
13. Liam once had no idea what YOLO and DTF stood for, so he guessed “Yummy Oreos Love Origami” and “Dedicated To Fans.” Better abbreviations, in my honest opinion.
14. Liam wishes he’d written the song “99 Problems,” by Jay Z. We wonder why?
15. All of his band-mates have said he’s got the best abs in the group. We cannot deny this.
16. Liam has a man-crush on Twilight star Taylor Lautner.
17. He has two pet turtles named Boris and Archimedes. He also has an adorable little husky named Loki (with his ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer).

18. One time Liam was left behind and when the tour bus took off, he started running after it while waving his arms. The rest of the band mistook him for a fan at first.
19. Until he was 19-years-old, Liam suffered from kidney problems (1 scarred and dysfunctional kidney) that kept him from drinking and he had to lead a very careful life. Luckily, he’s all healthy now and can legally drink with his American fans!
20. The one person guaranteed to make him laugh is band-made, Louis Tomlinson! “Even if I’m in a situation where I’m mad at him, the person that can make me smile is Louis. Whatever happens he’ll make me laugh about something.”
21. One of Liam’s tattoos (the feather and lyrics) is dedicated to his Nan.
Happy Birthday Liam! We hope you have an awesome day and get to relax a little, if that's possible to do in the middle of a world tour.

Singer/actor Harry Belafonte and actress Maureen O'hara are set to be honoured at the Governors Awards later this year (14). The Carmen Jones star will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which is given to "an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry," while O'Hara will be feted with an honorary Academy Award at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles on 8 November (14).
Announcing the new honours on Thursday (28Aug14), Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs said, "The Governors Awards allow us to reflect upon not the year in film, but the achievements of a lifetime.
"We're absolutely thrilled to honour these outstanding members of our global filmmaking community and look forward to celebrating with them in November."
It’s particularly impressive when a movie whose premise alone seems to have been written with the intention of incurring heavy gasps can actually conjure up something rather genuine. Whereas Starred Up’s central maneuver — sticking a delinquent teenager in adult prison right alongside, as it just so happens, his no good father (“Oh my!”) — seems like the kind of contrivance that entails thick melodrama and Oscar reel-friendly climactic scenes, the movie plays everything close to the ground. It favors kindling over explosives, a paced climb over vertical leaps, and — most importantly — criminal men over criminal monsters.
In fact, the victory of the film is just how reasonable its characters seem from the get-go. While the crime and prison genres more often than not approach their antiheroes with the mission of giving audiences an unexpected look at the humanity within bad men, Starred Up takes the reverse — more original and perhaps more valuable — approach: slowly waking its viewers up to the badness that inflicts these humans.
Yes, we have an immediate understanding of how the malicious and unpredictable Eric (Jack O’Connell) wound up in prison ahead of his years, but at no point are we dealing with a character whose erraticism drags him all the way south of empathetic comprehension. Though a more patient and poised man, Eric’s father Neville (Ben Mendehlson) is too understood from all fronts: he’s a survivor whose Machiavellian instincts would have more than likely landed him in prison at one point or another. It’s this intellect and wisdom, though, that endears him to us. And to Eric.
We’re not forced to wade through a marshland of temperate drama before we see Eric and Neville “finally make up.” Right off the bat, we’re given the relationship the movie wants us to see, steeped in the conversation it wants us to have: one about masculinity. Between the two men, within the contexts of Eric’s mandatory group therapy sessions with counselor Oliver (Rupert Friend) and a collection of seasoned inmates — don’t worry, this flick never goes that false and sappy route that most therapy movies employ — and scattered throughout various corners of the prison, we witness talk of masculinity. But once again, Starred Up isn’t hitting us over the head with gaudy exclamations. The power of this movie is in its lack of interest in the dramatic and its preference, instead, of the humane.

Alongside a record degree of mediocrity, the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards also marked a few records in some of its top competitive categories. Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston took home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophy last night: his fourth for the role of Walter White. With this latest achievement, Cranston has tied one Dennis Franz, who has held the record of four Best Dramatic Actor Emmys solo since 1999. The milestone begs us to look back through other Emmys records: Which stars have the most wins? The most nominations? And, perhaps tragically, the most nominations without a single win?
This bittersweet superlative goes to none other than Angela Lansbury, who never quite nabbed that trophy despite 12 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nominations as Murder, She Wrote star Jessica Fletcher.
Not only does Lansbury claim ownership of the most nominations without a win, she also has the most nominations period in any acting category. Alan Alda, Ted Danson, and Kelsey Grammer have all earned 11 nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category (for M*A*S*H, Cheers, and Frasier respectively), and Mary Tyler Moore snagged 10 Lead Actress in a Comedy nominations for her eponymous sitcom. As for supporting categories, David Hyde Pierce has taken 11 nods for his work on Frasier, while Rhea Perlman and Loretta Swit have each earned 10 comedy nominations (Cheers and M*A*S*H).

You might think that the guest of honor was an actor, who was nominated-than-won several Emmy Awards last night. You would be wrong. Last night’s guest of honor was not a nominee (but should have been). Last night’s star was Bryan Cranston’s Mustache.
Just look at how glorious it is:
An absolute star on it's own.
A gift to the world.
We are not worthy.
And it knows that we are not.
A wonder like this does not come easy, it takes work to be so increible.
How do you feel about this star and it's potential? Tweet us your love for the Mustache!
Director/producer Ryan Murphy has urged young fans to make a difference in the world by drawing inspiration from The Normal Heart playwright and AIDS activist Larry Kramer and becoming champions of good causes. The Glee and American Horror Story director escorted ailing Kramer to the stage as he picked up the Outstanding Television Movie honour for his recent TV adaptation of The Normal Heart at the Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday (25Aug14).
Murphy gave special recognition to the film's actors, Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo, for lending their star-power to the project - about Kramer's efforts to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS in the early 1980s - to help move it into production, almost 30 years after Barbra Streisand obtained the rights to the 1985 play with a view to turning it into a small screen movie.
Stepping up to the mic, Murphy said, "We're only here because of one person, and that's Mr. Larry Kramer. We did this for him.
"Special thanks to our wonderful cast, particularly a shout out to Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo, who got this movie made. After 30 years, it took the superpowers of Erin Brokovich and The Incredible Hulk to finally get this thing alive."
Murphy then used the second part of his acceptance speech to encourage young humanitarians to lead the charge for change.
He continued, "We're gonna use the rest of our time to ask young people watching to become Larry Kramers, to find a cause that you believe in that you will fight for, that you will die for. Go online, look up amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research), look up the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation."
Murphy wrapped up his speech by dedicating his Emmy to "the hundreds of thousands of artists who have passed from HIV/AIDS since 1981", adding, "Your memory and your passion burns on in us, and this is for them. Thank you."
The filmmaker's moving tribute prompted transgender Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox to take to Twitter.com after the speech and applaud Murphy for his words of wisdom, writing, "#RyanMurphy's speech made me tear up. Bravo."
Actress Amanda Peet revealed she is pregnant with her third child by debuting her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Monday (25Aug14). The Whole Nine Yards star arrived at the Los Angeles prizegiving to support her husband, Game of Thrones executive producer David Benioff, and while posing for pictures in a flowing Giambattista Valli dress, Peet proudly showed off her burgeoning bump.
Peet and Benioff are already parents to two daughters, France, seven, and Molly, four, and the actress tells Us Weekly that her kids are looking forward to welcoming another member into their family.
Peet says, "They're pretty excited. The older one is pretty excited, the middle one is not so sure."
The mum-to-be admits being pregnant at 42 years old is "quite something" and confesses her glam look for the ceremony won't last too long, adding, "I'll be taking these heels off in a minute."

Jennifer Lopez became U.S. talk show host Chelsea Handler's last interview guest as the comedienne wrapped up one of her final Chelsea Lately programmes on Thursday (21Aug14).
The singer/actress' appearance was her debut on the show and she dressed to impress, stepping out in a white mini-dress, prompting the host to coo about Lopez's look.
Handler said, "I've been wanting to get my hands on this body for a long time... I'm not a lesbian and I'm certainly not a kiss-a** but I could look at you with clothes on or without for an extended period of time and I want to get into specifics about what the f**k is going on with you?"
A stunned Lopez responded, "I try take care of myself... I try to live right, try to healthy and happy. I don't drink. I never smoked... I don't like it (alcohol)... I never got accustomed to the taste of alcohol. "My mom used to scare us about alcohol and drugs. We grew up in the Bronx and she was just like so afraid that we were gonna fall into bad stuff... She drummed it in our heads."
Handler then questioned "currently single" Lopez's love of monogamy, joking, "If I were you and I had what you have I would just be f**king everybody." Her guest replied, "I like being in a relationship. I'm not one to whore around."
Handler ended the interview by thanking Lopez for finally coming on her show. The comedienne's one-hour finale airs on Tuesday (26Aug14) and will feature appearances by Miley Cyrus and Handler's ex-boyfriend 50 Cent.
