Network bosses at BET have suspended the producer responsible for a bad joke about Beyonce and Jay Z's daughter, which aired on Monday's (25Aug14) 106 & Park. During her guest spot on the music show, model Karrueche Tran took part in a skit about Blue Ivy's hypothetical thoughts during Sunday's (24Aug14) MTV Video Music Awards, joking, "I really did wake up like this, because my parents never comb my hair." Stephen Hill, BET's president of music programming and specials, publicly apologised for the gag on Twitter.
Pretty Little Liars star Janel Parrish has reportedly landed a new job as a competitor on the upcoming season of U.S. reality show Dancing With The Stars after her character was killed off in the teen drama.
Parrish, who played Mona on the hit series, exited the programme during the mid-season finale, which aired in the U.S. on Tuesday (26Aug14), but the actress is already preparing for her next role - and she's heading to the dancefloor.
Editors at Eonline.com claim the 25 year old has signed up to join General Hospital soap star Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Olympian Lolo Jones on the 19th season of Dancing With the Stars, which will return to U.S. TV screens on 15 September (14). The full line-up will be unveiled next week (04Sep14).

Britney Spears has helped to make a terminally ill fan's dreams come true by flying him out to meet her during a Las Vegas concert last week (ends24Aug14).
Cory Moraw suffers from genetic disorder DiGeorge syndrome, diabetes and cirrhosis of the liver, and his health recently declined, prompting friends and family members to reach out to his favourite pop star.
They posted a message on a fundraising page in the hope of making Spears aware of her sick fan's dreams, and when they wrote, "There is only one thing in this world that Cory would feel like doing... that would be to see Britney Spears LIVE", she got in touch. The Toxic singer sent the 28 year old a first-class plane ticket to Las Vegas and arranged to meet him before her show on 19 August (14).
Moraw's mum, Janet Russom, says, "She just hugged him and she was like, 'Oh, Cory, thank you for letting me meet you'. I was like, 'That is just so cool that she said it that way...' "It was priceless. Getting to see him that happy was just priceless. You couldn't have asked for anything better than him meeting her."
Singer Michelle Williams has spoken out in defence of former Destiny'S Child bandmate Beyonce's decision not to tame her daughter Blue Ivy's wild hair, insisting cruel critics should focus on their own kids. Style critics and Internet trolls have taken aim at the Crazy In Love hitmaker and her rapper husband Jay Z in recent months over their choice to let two-year-old Blue Ivy's locks grow out naturally.
The haircare debate even led to a bizarre petition launched online, calling on the baby's superstar parents to comb her afro, but Williams is baffled by the unlikely hot topic.
She tells America's Sister 2 Sister magazine, "Let's worry about your own children and nieces and nephews and make sure they're getting good grades in school and not worry about somebody's hair."
And Williams is warning cyber bullies everywhere not to mess with her or her loved ones.
She says, "I think the cyber bullying is just stupid because the majority of the time most of the cyber bullies just type it (online), but when they see you on the street, they're not gonna say it to your face.
"Every now and then, depending on what day you catch me, if you say something out of line to me - because I don't want you to be ignorant, I want you to be knowledgeable - I will spit something back to you that's factual and I'll say 'God bless you' at the end."
Williams' comments emerge days after Blue Ivy's appearance with her famous parents at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (24Aug14), when she helped her dad present Beyonce with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, prompted further haircare criticism from bloggers.
Chris Brown's on/off girlfriend Karrueche Tran also poked fun at the child's hair during a guest hosting stint on U.S. music video chart show 106 & Park on Monday (25Aug14), when she read from a script of jokes and quipped, as Blue Ivy, "I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair."
The backlash she received prompted BET network boss Stephen G. Hill to apologise for the remark on behalf of his company.
I might be bias because he’s my absolute favorite musician to ever exist, but Ed Sheeran got his first, and very well deserved, moonman from the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24. Winning the award for Best Male Video for his hit single "Sing", this was also his first American award. Ever. Well it’s about time!
This is going to be a huge PSA from me to you about how it’s practically necessary to be a big fan of this guy. This is no joke. If I had to pick only one musician to listen to for the rest of my life, with no hesitation, it would be Ed.
1. His lyrics are super cleaver.
2. It’s only him and a loop pedal on stage. Pure talent.
3. He was featured in People Magazines “Sexiest Man Alive” issue this year (It doesn't have to do with his music, but we all just have to acknowledge that high honor).
What’s wrong with him you may wonder? Nothing. Ed Sheeran is a perfect human.
4. Every song he sings is flawless.
5. Every song he sings live is even more flawless (my personal favorite is "Give Me Love" from his first album "+". Not only does it show off his insane vocals, but four minutes into the song, he builds a beat with just his guitar and voice. As mentioned before, he uses a loop pedal in order to do so).
Prepare to have your mind blown right now:
Impressed? I'm not done. The video doesn't even do it justice. See it sung live. Goosebumps everywhere...
6. He writes all his own music.
7. He writes other peoples music (only for some semi-famous musicians though like One Direction and Taylor Swift.. Maybe you've heard of them?).
8. Basically he's a music writing machine (all this and he's only 23...HOW!?).
Unlike other huge artists nowadays, Ed doesn't need anything extra to sound good or put on an entertaining show.
9. He doesn't need to sing along to a track.
10. He doesn't need backup dancers.
11. He doesn't need sparkly costumes.
12. He doesn't need to make it a huge production.
He literally stands in the same spot for his whole set, yet is able to make his shows the most amazing ones I've ever been to.
After being nominated frequently, and now finally winning, this offically makes Ed a part of the American music scene. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes home all future nominations from here on out (and if "X" doesn't win Album Of The Year, I will protest). Let's work for that Grammy next!
Luckily, Ed Sheeran continues his North American Multiply Tour on August 26 in San Jose, California. But he's here until mid-September, then he travels around the world through to February 2015.
There are no excuses not to see this tour. If you miss the closest show to you, just fly to another country to see him instead (that's what I'm doing!). This is Ed Sheeran we're talking about people! If you're not willing to make that sacrifice, you need to reconsider everything you just read. Hurry up and get your tickets now!
Have you seen Ed Sheeran live? What did you think of his show? Tweet us your thoughts!
"She's evidently not a huge fan of the show. But I'm a huge fan of hers. I want to get her abs. That's what I aspire to." One of U.S. TV network BET's top executives has reached out to apologise to Beyonce and Jay-Z after their young daughter became a butt of a terrible joke on Monday (25Aug14). During BET's 106 & Park show, guest Karrueche Tran poked fun at Blue Ivy's wild hair at Sunday's (24Aug14) MTV Video Music Awards, where Beyonce and her husband attempted to dismiss split reports by attending the event with their daughter.
Chris Brown's model girlfriend was asked to read from a script of jokes speculating what Blue Ivy was thinking while she watched her mother perform onstage, and when she said, "'I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair", Tran immediately knew she had gone too far, adding, "Sorry, Blue! I love you!"
That apology didn't appease Beyonce fans who took to social media to attack the model, prompting Tran to tweet, "Now y'all know I LOVE me some Beyonce and Blue Ivy! I didn't write this script y'all lol (laugh out loud)."
The backlash finally prompted Stephen G. Hill, the president of music programming and specials for BET Networks, to apologise on behalf of his company.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday (26Aug14), he wrote, "Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful (sic) joke made about a young child... We apologize publically (sic) to the child’s parents (and have done so privately) and we have taken punitive actions with those responsible."
He added, "It was very bad judgment and we will serve you much better in the future. And please don’t hate on Karrueche; it was NOT her fault. We also apologize to her for putting her in that position."

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul's heartfelt tribute to his wife during his Primetime Emmy Awards acceptance speech on Monday (25Aug14) prompted fans to flood her charity website - and crash it.
The actor nabbed his third trophy for playing Jesse Pinkman on the critically acclaimed series which ended last year (13), and while accepting his Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Paul made sure to not only mention the cast and crew of the show, but also his wife, Lauren Parsekian Paul.
During his touching speech, he said, "To my wife, my God, thank you for marrying me. Thank you for dedicating your life to spreading kindness across the world. We all appreciate it. If you guys don’t know what she does, look up Kind Campaign. Do yourself a favour, look up Kind Campaign." Within minutes of mentioning his wife's charity, which aims to end girl-on-girl bullying, the website went down due to a traffic overload, and stayed down through Tuesday (26Aug14).
Paul previously supported his wife's organisation by holding a special screening of the final episode of Breaking Bad last September (13).
Paul, co-star Bryan Cranston and series creator Vince Gilligan attended the event at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, and raised $1.8 million ( million) for the Kind Campaign from ticket sales.
Here are this week's highlights from VH1, Celebuzz, Flavorwire, and Hollywood.com.
Some words of wisdom from George TakeiSince the Star Trek legend, social media mainstay, and LGBT rights activist is the subject of a new documentary, To Be Takei, Flavorwire felt it appropriate timing to round up a healthy sum of Mr. Sulu's inspiring quotes about tolerance, love, and forward thinking.
The day the shark was jumpedEven the best television series hit a dropoff point somewhere down the line. VH1 gathers together a handful of classic TV dramas and comedies, aiming to pinpoint exactly when each of them began to lose its edge. Hey, if it happened to Tony Soprano, it could happen to anybody.
Olivia Wilde puts a different twist on the Ice Bucket ChallengeNowhere in the Ice Bucket Challenge bylaws does it say that you must douse yourself with freezing cold water... the former House star opted for another liquid, as you can see in this Celebuzz post.
These movies cost how much?Showbiz is an expensive industry, but this list of the most expensive movies ever made is positively baffling.
Alongside a record degree of mediocrity, the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards also marked a few records in some of its top competitive categories. Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston took home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophy last night: his fourth for the role of Walter White. With this latest achievement, Cranston has tied one Dennis Franz, who has held the record of four Best Dramatic Actor Emmys solo since 1999. The milestone begs us to look back through other Emmys records: Which stars have the most wins? The most nominations? And, perhaps tragically, the most nominations without a single win?
This bittersweet superlative goes to none other than Angela Lansbury, who never quite nabbed that trophy despite 12 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nominations as Murder, She Wrote star Jessica Fletcher.
Not only does Lansbury claim ownership of the most nominations without a win, she also has the most nominations period in any acting category. Alan Alda, Ted Danson, and Kelsey Grammer have all earned 11 nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category (for M*A*S*H, Cheers, and Frasier respectively), and Mary Tyler Moore snagged 10 Lead Actress in a Comedy nominations for her eponymous sitcom. As for supporting categories, David Hyde Pierce has taken 11 nods for his work on Frasier, while Rhea Perlman and Loretta Swit have each earned 10 comedy nominations (Cheers and M*A*S*H).
