Dewey Bozella was incarcerated for over three decades for a murder he did not commit. He was released in 2000 and was handed the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at the annual sports prizegiving in Los Angeles after turning his bitterness into a love for boxing and a desire to help troubled youngsters avoid jail.
Accepting his award at the glitzy gala, Bozella revealed the New York boxing gym he had been training and teaching at had recently closed down - and now he was determined to open his own place, but he needed help.
Touched by his story and his acceptance speech, Moore took to Twitter.com and wrote, "The true hero of tonight's Espy awards Dewey Bozella. pls (please) send me any info on how 2 (sic) keep his dream alive of having his boxing studio 4 (sic) kids."
Model-turned-actor Tyrese Gibson's mother has gone public with a family feud
which is set to leave her homeless.
Gibson thrilled Oprah Winfrey when he handed his mom, Priscilla Murray, the
keys to a new home on her TV show in 2000, but now she claims he's out to evict
She claims the Four Brothers star has put the $150,000 home on the
market and is forcing her into a one bedroom condominium because he doesn't get
along with his siblings, who live in the house he bought his mom.
Murray says, "He doesn't want them with me but I don't want to split up my
family. It makes me so sick... My heart is broken."
But a spokeswoman for Gibson insists the claims Murray has made to the
National Enquirer are "completely untrue" adding, "Tyrese is shocked and
saddened by these allegations."
