Model Jerry Hall is playing matchmaker for her daughter Elizabeth Jagger in a bid to find her a man before she turns 30. Jagger, the daughter of Hall and Rolling Stones rocker Sir Mick Jagger, celebrates the milestone next month (Mar14) and her mother is hoping to help her find love before the big day, along with fellow catwalk veteran Marie Helvin.
Helvin says, "Jerry and I have become love hunters, modern day matchmakers, for Lizzie. We're doing it the old-fashioned way, when your parents or godparents found someone for you."
Tlc star Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas has set her sights on a date with actor Chris Pine following reports suggesting she was romancing U.S. comedian Wayne Brady. The No Scrubs hitmaker was linked to the funnyman earlier this month (Jan13) when they were spotted together in Las Vegas, but both have dismissed the rumours they're an item and now Thomas has hinted she's after another celebrity - and she isn't averse to letting the media play matchmaker.
Further dismissing the Brady dating reports, the singer's representative tells E! News, "As a matter of fact, Chilli happens to be a 'Pine Nut', so if you all want to play matchmaker, Chris Pine is definitely what Chilli wants."
And the Star Trek Into Darkness star doesn't seem to be opposed to the idea of dating the singer.
Reacting to her rep's bold statement, he says, "We get mixed up all the time, me and Wayne Brady... Well, have her send me some sort of gift and then we'll talk."
Thomas previously dated singer Usher, while Pine's ex-girlfriends include actress Olivia Munn, reality TV star Audrina Patridge and Beau Garrett. He was last romantically linked to model Dominique Piek.
Ben Stiller's new movie The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty has prompted bosses at online dating site eHarmony.com to upgrade their customer service. When eHarmony dating experts realised the movie depicts staff as 24-hour carers to lonely hearts, they decided to make changes.
In the film, comedian Patton Oswalt plays the voice on the phone trying to help Stiller's desperate character find love by constantly editing his dating profile online - something eHarmony personal counsellors didn't do, until now.
After Stiller approached the dating site bosses with his ideas for the film, they decided it was time to upgrade their service and they created a system that mirrors the movie.
The site's vice-president of customer experience, Grant Langston, tells The Hollywood Reporter, "As I read the script, I realised it couldn't be accurate because that's not the way we model our service. EHarmony is a self-serve model."
So, the company upgraded and now premium members looking for love can receive one-to-one counselling from a professional matchmaker.
But film fans who sign up for the film should be warned - the package does not include face-to-face meetings with online experts at airports, as depicted in the movie.
James Blunt unwittingly set his sister up with her future husband by posting an advert for a date on auction website eBay. The British singer was using the online auction site to clear clutter out of his London apartment ahead of a tour when his sister found herself unable to get to a funeral in Ireland due to an airline strike.
Blunt posted an eBay listing asking for help getting his sister to the funeral, and the advert set her up with the man she later married.
The You're Beautiful singer tells Britain's The Times newspaper, "I came back to my flat (apartment) and my sister was the only thing left. She couldn't get to a funeral in Ireland because the planes were on strike, so the last thing I put on eBay was her, as 'damsel in distress needs knight in shinning armour, what can you do to get my sister to this funeral?' Various men bid and the man who won had a helicopter. They are now married and have two children together. He's a very nice man."
Comedienne Ellen Degeneres has revealed she once attempted to set Lenny Kravitz and Natalie Portman up on a date without realising the actress was attached to the man who would become her husband. The comic recalled the embarrassing mix up on her U.S. chat show on Tuesday (12Nov13) when Kravitz was a guest.
After asking about the rocker's current dating status, DeGeneres reminded him, "I tried to fix you up at a party, with someone who already had a boyfriend, it turned out."
Kravitz said, "I remember that. It was Natalie Portman - not some random girl... She (DeGeneres) has a very Jewish momma thing with me, it's wonderful."
At the time of the incident, Portman was dating French choreographer Benjamin Millepied, who is now the Black Swan star's husband.
DeGeneres had another shot at trying to find single Kravitz a new mate when she suggested he should romance her guest DJ for the day, Carmen Electra.
Electra, who was previously married to Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, seemed keen on the idea, and said, "He's one of the most gorgeous men on the planet. And he plays guitar. He's a winner."
Patrick Swayze's younger brother Don has signed up to find love on U.S. reality show Millionaire Matchmaker. The 55-year-old actor and stuntman, who recently enjoyed a small role in vampire series True Blood, claims he made it clear to show producers that he was no big spender and lives a modest life, but they still wanted him to appear on an upcoming episode of the hit Bravo network series with relationship guru Patti Stanger.
He tells the National Enquirer, "The truth is, I am actually very shy. I'm also not a millionaire. Not even close. I rent a small cottage near downtown Los Angeles and live a very low-key lifestyle...
"The producers told me that they were doing a 'special celebrity episode' so I didn't need to be a millionaire."
Don Swayze, who was previously married to actress Marcia Swayze for eight years, is optimistic about finding lasting love on the programme and he can only hope to establish a close bond with a prospective partner, like the one his late brother had with his wife, Lisa Niemi.
Don says, "She was there for him 24/7 until the very end. If I could be in a loving relationship again with just a fraction of the love those two had, I would die a happy man. I know my brother Patrick is looking down on me with a big smile on his face and pulling for me."
The Ghost star died from pancreatic cancer in September, 2009.
We're playing matchmaker and pairing celebrities up who we think would be perfect for each other. Whether it's because they're friends in real life, like Ellen and Alexander, or because they have common interests, like fellow young wilder-outers Justin and Miley, or just because they'd look smokin' hot together, like George and Sandra, these are five celebrity couples we wish would happen in real life. We hope you're listening (you can thank us in your wedding speech later).
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney
They've been lighting up the Venice Film Festival red carpet together for their movie, Gravity, and acting adorable for the photographers. He kissed her hand, she wiped his brow. Not only is their photo chemistry intense, but they would make such a handsome couple. Move over, Posh and Becks, Gisele and Tom — George and Sandra will be the best-looking couple in Hollywood. We really, really hope.
Alexander Skarsgard and Ellen Page
Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard fueled rumors of a romance when she posted an Instagram pic of her leaning on him while he kissed her head, inducing an "awww" heard around the world. However, a source confirmed that they're just friends, crushing our hopes. The best foundation for a relationship is a solid friendship, right? But seriously, how ridiculously cute would they be?
Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus
Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus have both exhibited some wild and questionable behavior recently. He peed into a mop bucket and caused a ruckus, she twerked all over Robin Thicke and caused a ruckus. Why not join forces and wreak havoc together? With his shirtlessness and her pantslessness combined, I don't even want to know what kind of trouble these two could get into.
Tom Cruise and Demi Moore
Even though Tom Cruise and Demi Moore don't really run in the same circles, they might hit it off as a couple. They're less than a year apart (he's 51, she's turning 51 in a few months) and both were dumped by much younger spouses somewhat recently, so maybe it's time for them to try dating someone their own age. They could reminisce about the 80s and actually know what each other was talking about.
Keanu Reeves and Kristen Stewart
This may seem like an odd pairing, but hear me out. He's perpetually sad and sometimes looks homeless sitting on a bench in his tattered jeans; she rarely smiles and more than occasionally dresses like a hobo. But they're both incredibly good-looking underneath all that misery, so why shouldn't Keanu Reeves and Kristen Stewart brood and go shopping at Goodwill together?

Leonardo DiCaprio has played matchmaker to help his beloved mother find love again. Irmelin Indenbirken, who divorced the actor's dad George when he was a baby, joined her son at an Independence Day (04Jul13) party hosted by Madonna's manager Guy Oseary in Malibu, California, where she showed off her beau of one year, a suitor named David, and it appears she has the Titanic star to thank for the new man in her life.
A guest who asked David about his romance with Indenbirken tells the New York Post's Page Six column, "He said Leo and his (own) daughter, the wife of a Black Keys band member, set them up on a blind date, and they've been together ever since."
The source adds, "The two danced next to Leo... and partied away until the wee hours."
The holiday bash was a double date for the mother and son - DiCaprio was joined by his new girlfriend, Victoria's Secret model Toni Garrn, who he has been dating since May (13).
Other guests at Oseary's lavish party included Charlize Theron, Owen Wilson, Mel Gibson, Woody Harrelson and George Clooney's girlfriend, Stacy Kiebler.
Actress Denise Richards is set to welcome a new stepmother into her life - her father is engaged. The former Bond girl, 42, reveals her dad, Irv, found love online earlier this year (13) and he has already proposed.
She tells U.S. talk show host Chelsea Handler, "He did one of those dating sites. He's getting married. I think he could have maybe waited a little longer, but whatever."
However, Richards knows few other details about the planned ceremony and she isn't even sure if she'll be invited: "I don't even know when it is! They're probably going to Vegas or something."
Irv Richards lost his wife, the actress' mum, Joni, to kidney cancer in 2007 and, in early 2013, the widower appeared on U.S. dating show Millionaire Matchmaker in the hopes of finding a new partner.
He told matchmaker Patti Stanger he wanted a woman older than his daughter, who he lives with, and added, "I'm not looking for eye candy. I'm looking for real relationship."
Watch out, Katie Couric: you've got yourself a copycat. Meredith Vieira, the woman who replaced Couric on The Today Show, is now following in her footsteps with plans to start a new daytime talk show, according to Deadline. There's just one small thing: that's exactly what Couric did after she left the NBC morning staple (and after she spent a bit of time as CBS' nightly news anchor, but we're going for an effect here).
With Katie holding daytime television court on Katie, is there room for Vieira in the late afternoon game? We pit Vieira's morning show antics to the test against Couric's morning show and daytime skills and find out which host has the most.
Who's got better (dating) game?A staple of the daytime talkshow circuit is doling out dating advice on occasion. A quick survey of Vieira's past Today segments shows she may be lacking in this area, but Couric's got it down to an art.

It's always better to feel like the host understands the plight of the person she's advising, especially when it comes to dating, and Couric has certainly done that by adding her own personal spin to the conversation. This round, the victory goes to Couric.
Who's better at handling Hamm? It's no easy task to interview Mad Men star Jon Hamm, the impossibly handsome man behind Don Draper (on account of all the handsomeness), but both Vieira and Couric have had a turn with the hunk. Who handled it better?

Sure, it's probably the more professional answer to say that an interviewer shouldn't cavort with her subject, but let's be honest... even Jay Leno had to spoof Vieira because she was so straight forward with Hamm. Couric, however, was flipping her hair and giggling, basically allowing us to live vicariously through her, which is perfect. Couric takes it again.
Who's better at talking to adorable, talented kids? It's an essential part of daytime TV: palling around with impossibly adorable kids. The daytime audience needs it. They crave it. They want to squee and say "awwwwww" until they just can't stand it anymore.
Unfortunately, for Vieira, she has a hard time changing her interview style from the way she talks to a politician to the way most people talk to kids. Her question to the Darth Vader kid was so complicated, the poor thing got lost. Couric knows all you have to do is tell a kid they're awesome and compliment their hair and they're right at ease. Couric is the victor. (Sensing a pattern?)
And of course, who's better at asking the tough questions? While the talk show biz is a lot about glitz and fun segments, it comes with its fair share of tough interviews if you're doing it right. Who's better prepared to get to the bottom of a sensitive story?
Sorry, Vieira, but even if we weren't counting the time Couric eviscerated Sarah Palin when she was running for Vice President and were only focusing on her Manti Te'o interview, that Donald Trump incident in which you failed to question his outrageous claims stands out as journalism school mistake number one. Couric wins this thing, hands down.
Of course, that doesn't mean Vieira can't learn enough to make her own version of daytime talk work. One thing's for sure though, she's going to have to learn that it's always okay to make eyes at Jon Hamm.
