Proving that there’s nothing Hollywood won’t reboot if given then chance, a new Scooby Doo movie is reportedly in the works at Warner Bros. According to Variety, the studio is looking to send Scooby, Shaggy, and the gang on another spooky adventure, which will be written by Randall Green. The news comes just a year after Warner Bros. also announced plans for an animated Scooby Doo movie, which is reportedly still on track. Though the last live-action Mystery Gang outings, 2002’s Scooby Doo and its sequel Monsters Unleashed, did well commercially, they weren’t received well by critics and fans of the series, which is why it’s surprising that Warner Bros. would be so intent at taking a third shot at big-screen adventure. After all, the live-action Scooby Doo’s were only slightly better than Yogi Bear. There are plenty of other great classic Hanna-Barbera properties that would make for great films, so why does Scooby get a third shot at big screen success? Think about all of the possibilities that are open…

You're welcome, Hollywood.
Justin Bieber's pal Lil Za has avoided jail time after striking a plea deal with prosecutors in his felony drug and vandalism case. The aspiring rapper was taken into police custody in January (14) following a raid on Bieber's Calabasas, California home, where he was allegedly found in possession of ecstasy and painkiller Oxycodone.
He was booked for a felony, and was arrested for a second time hours later for breaking a telephone at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail, where he was being held before posting bail. That incident was initially filed as a felony too, but authorities subsequently reduced it to a misdemeanour.
The case returned to court on Wednesday (30Apr14), when Za, real name Xavier Smith, pleaded no contest to both counts in exchange for three years probation, 20 hours of community service and the completion of an outpatient drug treatment programme.
If he stays out of trouble for the next year, the felony drug charge will be reduced to a misdemeanour.
Meanwhile, he was also ordered to pay $600 (£375) for the vandalism charge to cover the cost of the broken phone.
Bieber's house was targeted by cops as part of their ongoing investigation into an egging incident involving the pop superstar earlier this year (14). Officials have yet to decide what kind of action they plan to take against the singer, who no longer owns the home after selling it to Kim Kardashian's sister Khloe.
Justin Bieber's pal Lil Za has been given extra time to decide on a plea in his vandalism case after prosecutors officially reduced his felony charge to a misdemeanour. The count relates to the aspiring rapper's arrest in January (14), when he was taken into custody on drug allegations following a raid on Bieber's Calabasas, California mansion.
He was arrested for a second time hours later for breaking a telephone at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail, where he was being held before posting bail.
The phone incident earned him a felony vandalism charge, but during a court hearing on Wednesday (26Mar14), authorities announced they were reducing it to a misdemeanour count as the damage did not exceed the $400 (£250) threshold for the more serious category.
However, Za, real name Xavier Smith, did not enter a plea as the judge granted his lawyer Shawn Holley's request for more time to consider his options.
The case will now be heard on 30 April (14).

A felony vandalism charge against Justin Bieber's rapper pal Lil Za has been reduced to a misdemeanour. The aspiring hip-hop star, real name Xavier Smith, was taken into custody by police in January (14) following a raid on Bieber's Calabasas, California mansion, where a bag of drugs allegedly belonging to Za was found.
He was arrested for a second time hours later for breaking a telephone at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail, where he was being held shortly before posting bail, and he was subsequently slapped with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, for MDMA (a form of ecstasy) and prescription painkiller oxycodone, and a third felony for the phone incident.
However, according to TMZ.com, cops have since agreed to reduce the latter charge to a misdemeanour as the phone was worth less than $400 (£250).
Editors also claim Za will avoid prison time if convicted for the drug allegations - prosecutors are likely to offer him a deal, in which he would plead guilty to possession in exchange for enrolment in a drug education course. If he manages to stay out of trouble for a year, the crime will reportedly be wiped from his record.

A listing on Craigslist.org for the sale of Kurt Cobain's personal items has been revealed as a hoax. Over the weekend (01-02Mar14), a posting surfaced from an unnamed man, who claimed to be a former Cobain housemate, offering up a set of skis and a telephone the tragic rock star once owned.
However, Sub Pop Records receptionist Derek Erdman has now come forward explaining he came up with the idea while he was "supposed to be working on something else."
He tells Revolt, "I created a diversion. Then I ignored it and went back to work. A few hours later I did an interview with CBC radio about it. Later that night I met a TV news crew... for an interview, but they called my bluff and asked for ID. I told them that I was a one time bass player for '90s band Gruntruck. They didn't buy it, and they were visibly not happy about me wasting their time...
"I don't have that stuff... If I had a Swatch phone, there's no way that I'd sell it."
A man who once shared a home with tragic Nirvana star Kurt Cobain is selling off the singer/songwriter's belongings on Craigslist.com. The unnamed former pal has offered up a set of skis and a telephone Cobain once reportedly owned for less than $100 (£62.50) each, and he is keen to sell more of the rocker's stuff from their time as housemates in Washington before he was famous.
The ex-housemate writes, "I used to live with Kurt Cobain back in the 90s and I have been holding on to a bunch of his stuff that he left in a box when he moved out. He owed us rent and said he would get the box when he came back and gave us money but he never came back, then when he was famous he never really talked to any of us again...
"i also have a lot more stuff of kurts, like magazine and clothes that i will be selling off soon."
The online sale comes just weeks before the 20th anniversary of Cobain's death in April, 1994.
Justin Bieber's rapper friend Lil Za has been charged with three felonies following his drug arrest at the pop star's home in January (14). The aspiring hip-hop star, real name Xavier Smith, was taken into custody after police found a bag of illegal substances during a raid on the Baby hitmaker's home in Calabasas, California as they investigated accusations that Bieber had pelted a neighbour's house with eggs.
Smith was arrested for a second time for vandalising a telephone at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail, where he was being held shortly before posting bail.
He has now been charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, for MDMA (a form of ecstasy) and prescription painkiller oxycodone, and a third charge for vandalising the phone in jail.
The rapper could face up to nine years in jail if convicted on all counts, according to TMZ.com.
British rock icon David Bowie showed off his best Elvis Presley impersonation to deliver a special Christmas message to fans over the festive holiday. The reclusive star recorded a quirky 41-second clip for a BBC Radio 6 Music show hosted by the surviving members of The Clash, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon, and the greeting aired in the U.K. on Thursday (26Dec13).
In the audio message, Bowie puts on Presley's Southern drawl and says, "Hello everybody, this is David Bowie making a telephone call from the U.S. of A. At this time of the year I can't help but remember my British-ness and all the jolly British folk, so here's to you and have yourselves a Merry little Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you very much."
Newlywed Meredith Baxter first met her wife over the phone after she sought out a companion to talk about her struggle with sobriety. The former Family Ties actress tied the knot with contractor Nancy Locke earlier this month (08Dec13), eight years since they first spoke.
Locke tells the New York Times that a pal gave her Baxter's number as she tried to overcome her addiction issues.
While Locke only knew her sober phone friend as 'Meredith', the pair spent the next five months talking on the telephone - before the relationship turned into a romance.
Baxter adds, "I knew she was a contractor and she was gay. She knew nothing about me. My role was that of a listener."
The two finally decided to meet in person for the first time at a Santa Monica, California coffee shop, and Locke was beyond surprised upon learning the woman she had been sharing her deepest feelings with for the past few months was a well-known actress.
Locke explains, "I remember thinking, 'There’s that actress. What’s her name? Meredith Baxter.' As she came towards me I said, 'Wait. You're Meredith?'"
The following year, they began dating, and Baxter publicly came out as a lesbian last year (12).
Outspoken rocker Morrissey has a new target in his sights - Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge's younger sister Pippa Middleton. The former The Smiths frontman is a long-term animal rights campaigner and he has launched a savage attack on the sister-in-law of the U.K.'s Prince William over her love of hunting, branding her a "thickwit" and insisting she is "the sick face of modern Britain".
The Suedehead hitmaker was infuriated by photographs printed in a British tabloid last month (Oct13) showing Middleton posing with 50 dead birds at her feet following a pheasant shoot in Scotland.
In a statement, he writes, "On October 5, the Daily Mail newspaper gave us all an 'amusing' report of thickwit Pippa Middleton laughing as she stood over 50 birds shot dead by her friends and herself after a 'busy day's shooting'. We are reminded by the Daily Mail that Middleton is a 'socialite', which tells us that she is privileged and can more-or-less kill whatever she likes - and, therefore she does.
"The sick face of modern Britain, Pippa Middleton will kill deer, boar, birds - any animal struggling to live, or that gets in her socialite way. This is because her sister is, of course, Kate, who herself became 'royal' simply by answering the telephone at the right time..."
Middleton caught the world's attention with her figure-hugging frock at her sister's wedding to Britain's second-in-line to the throne in 2011.
