Troubled actress Daniella Westbrook broke down in tears on live TV on Thursday (21Aug14) as she told of the devastating effects of her cocaine relapse. The British star revealed on Sunday (17Aug14) that she had stumbled in her battle with drugs and was taking cocaine again after 12 years of sobriety.
She gave a live interview from Los Angeles, where she is receiving rehab treatment, on Thursday but the chat was halted twice as she descended into sobs.
Westbrook revealed her mother has not spoken to her since she confessed her relapse to her earlier this month (Aug14) and she wept as she told viewers about the effect of the news on her younger brother, wailing, "I know I have broken his heart."
The former EastEnders star blames her relapse on the collapse of her marriage earlier this year (14) and admits she has snorted cocaine several times since April (14).
She told U.K. TV show This Morning, "I'm not where I was with drugs but it's a case of how long would it have been before I was back where I was? And that was what I was really frightened about...
"To be honest, when that story was going to be broken, the first thing I said to the journalist was, 'Thank you very much, because you have done me a huge favour'. It's exactly the intervention that I needed. I was frightened to come out and tell people I was taking drugs recreationally again...
"I have had a terrible time the last year, which is no excuse to relapse, I know. But at the same time I just felt so broken this last year and I feel like a lot of the times I have been on the verge of having a breakdown... I took drugs and relapsed and I am ashamed of that."
Singer Hilary Duff had the state of her marriage on her mind when she sat down to write new material for her latest album and reveals one of the tracks is all about what was going through her head. The So Yesterday hitmaker announced she had split from husband Mike Comrie in January (14), and now she reveals she poured her heart out in emotional songs about her man and their baby son Luca.
During a Billboard.com Pop Shop podcast on Thursday (31Jul14), Duff explained, "I'm separated from my husband right now, which has been a very difficult thing to go through, but we have a lot of love for each other and we have this beautiful baby.
"There's a song about Luca and a song about my separation and my love for this person, that maybe we're not meant to be together, or maybe we are. It's very, very personal... I think I just needed to get that out."
Duff is on the verge of a major comeback after a five-year hiatus, during which she became a wife and mother, and learned how to cook and renovate homes.
She admitted she's glad she took time away from he music business: "I was having the best time, but after about five years, I was like, 'I have no life, I have, like, two friends, I'm never home, I'm never with my family'. I kind of needed to shut it all down. It was time for me to be a person and learn who I wanted to be."

Brian Johnson has sent his best wishes to his Ac/Dc bandmate Malcolm Young as he battles ill health in hospital. The band was rumoured to be on the verge of a split earlier this year (14) due to Young's health troubles, but they vowed to press on after the musician decided to step down for a hiatus.
Johnson has now revealed his friend is in hospital, but he remains hopeful of a recovery.
He tells TeamRock Radio, "We miss Malcolm, obviously. He's a fighter. He's in hospital, but he's a fighter. We've got our fingers crossed that he'll get strong again.
"Stevie, Malcolm's nephew, was magnificent, but when you're recording (a new album) with this thing hanging over you and your work mate isn't well, it's difficult. But I'm sure he was rooting for us. He's such a strong man. He's a small guy, but he's very strong. He's proud and he's very private, so we can't say too much. But fingers crossed, he'll be back."
No further details about Young's health battle have been given.
Johnson goes on to reveal work on the band's new album has been completed after a number of studio sessions in Canada.
He adds, "We're done. I'm very excited and we've got some great songs. I wanted to call the album 'Man Down'. But it's a bit negative and it was probably just straight from the heart. I like that."
Five historic Garth Brooks concerts at Ireland's Croke Park are on the verge of cancellation after Dublin city officials refused to back down on plans to axe two shows he added at the venue. The country music star has threatened to scrap all five of his dates planned for later this month (Jul14) if locals' objections result in the cancellations of two of the concerts, but it appears Dublin City Council officials are refusing to budge on their ruling, insisting the sold out gigs will prove too much of a strain on local businesses and transport.
In a statement released on Thursday (03Jul14), the singer wrote, "I have faith that will make the best decision for the people of Ireland. For us, it is five shows or none at all. To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do, would be like asking to choose one child over another. However this plays out, Ireland has my heart and always will."
But city bosses remain firm on their decision to grant licences for three of the five Brooks concerts, stating, "We have been consistent (since it was confirmed that tickets were sold for five concerts) in informing the Promoter and his agents that the main concern was the impact that 5 consecutive concerts would have on the local area."
They add, "It should be noted The Promoter could have lodged the licence application at any stage, including before the tickets went on sale last February.
"Dublin City Council were not formally consulted by the Promoter prior to the tickets going on sale. It should be noted that there is no requirement for such consultation. There was no formal consultation with Dublin City Council and the Promoter prior to the lodgement of the Event Licence applications although there were a number of informal discussions with the Promoters Agents prior to its lodgement. Again our concerns regarding the number of concerts was expressed."
The officials' latest statement concludes, "A decision was made to grant the event licence subject to conditions, one of which was to reduce the number of concerts from five to three... It should be noted that event licence decisions made under the Planning & Development Acts cannot be amended or appealed."
Channing Tatum has shot down tabloid reports suggesting he and his wife are on the verge of an expensive Hollywood divorce. Editors at Star magazine published the story in their latest issue, claiming sources has told them that actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum is tired of her husband's womanising ways.
But the 22 Jump Street star has been quick to respond, insisting editors would have been more accurate if they had run a cover story about Big Foot.
Taking to his WhoSay.com account, the actor jokes, "'Caught in Three-way with Sasquatch in 7-11 Bathroom!' would be a more accurate headline for @Star_News?'s cover. But this is our world - where mags can concoct outright lies about real people in order to sell it to you as 'journalism'.
"Hope we all think hard about what this means and start to demand better. I know we can. Love y'all."
Meanwhile, a representative for the couple adds, "It's disappointing to see another example of Star magazine using outright lies to sell their weekly covers and trying to pass it off as journalism. Their current delusional cover couldn't be further from the truth."
Tatum wed the actress in 2009 and the couple welcomed a baby girl just over a year ago.
Ac/Dc will bounce back from the departure of guitarist Malcolm Young by returning to the road by the end of the year (14), according to frontman Brian Johnson. The band was rumoured to be on the verge of a split earlier this year (14) due to Young's health troubles, but they vowed to press on after the musician decided to step down for a hiatus.
Johnson has now revealed the rockers are plotting a new tour and could be back on the road by the end of the year (14).
In a message posted on his car racing webpage, Johnson admits he will have less time to focus on his love of motorsports and his TV show Cars That Rock because he is returning to work with AC/DC.
He writes, "We hope to bring you more (car racing TV) shows in the near future but, of course, there is the slight distraction of my day job with AC/DC - and it looks very likely that we will be on the road again before the end of the year. So stand by for more music - and more Cars That Rock. Thanks - Brian."
