The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star wed photographer Iswarienko in October (11) and their life as newlyweds has been documented for her reality show Shannen Says.
Earlier this month (Apr12), the 40 year old confessed she wasn't ready to start a family yet, telling PR.com, "We both want children, but more importantly, we want each other and we want to be with each other. Whatever else happens is fate and a blessing, but right now I think we're both so happy being married and together, and that's our focus."
But now it appears Doherty's maternal clock has kicked into high gear - she's now consciously putting on weight so she's better fit to handle pregnancy.
She tells People magazine, "If I'm able to have a child because I'm a little fatter, then great! I feel a peace I've never felt before. Now I'm ready for the next chapter in my life."
And the couple is already thinking ahead - Doherty admits they're currently building a house with a nursery.
"I don't consider myself a reality star. First and foremost, I am an actor and always will be. George Clooney does coffee commercials in Colombia, does that make him a commercial actor? Hell, no - he's a movie star. I'm still an actor." Shannen Doherty insists her new U.S. TV show Shannen Says is more a documentary series about a celebrity planning her third wedding than a reality TV show.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star wed photographer Iswarienko in a lavish Malibu, California ceremony, which was filmed for her upcoming U.S. reality show Shannon Says, but the weeks leading up to her big day proved to be too stressful for the actress.
So she booked her and her husband-to-be in for counselling sessions to work out their problems to ensure they would make it to the altar.
In a preview of the new WEtv network programme, Doherty - who has been married briefly twice before - is seen shouting profanities at Iswarienko, before saying, "I don't want to fight with you anymore. We're going to a shrink."
Shannon Says premieres in America on 10 April (12).
The former Beverly Hills, 90210, star has signed up to front an advertising campaign for online organisation Education Connection and, as part of her new role as company spokesperson, she's furthering her own learning and encouraging fans to follow her lead.
In the promotional video, she says, "I've played the girl-next-door and the girl-not-so-next-door. I've produced, I've directed, but now I'm doing something I've always wanted to do for me - I'm on my way to getting my college degree.
"I logged onto Education Connection, the free service that showed me hundreds of schools and degrees so I could pick the right one. Now I'm actually getting my degree in liberal arts - online! But you can get yours in business, in culinary arts, in nursing, in criminal justice, even a degree in technology.
"For my schedule, Education Connection showed me online has the most flexibility. I can study on the set, while travelling - anywhere, anytime. So do something smart for your future. Let Education Connection help you find the right program for free."
The former Beverly Hills 90210 star's dad John Thomas Doherty, known as Tom, passed away following a long battle with ill health. He was 66.
In a statement, she says, "I love him with every inch of my being and cannot imagine life without him."
Earlier this year (10), Doherty revealed she was spurred on to compete in TV talent show Dancing with the Stars after her father suffered a stroke.
She revealed, "He lost his speech, he wasn't mobile. He was really struggling... When I mentioned this to him, he got really excited, and he wanted me to do it. I thought, if my dad can fight through having a stroke and the loss of being able to communicate, I think I can do this for him. So I figured I'm going to get over my fear for him..."
The State of California has issued the star with a $44,064 (£27,540) tax lien, reports TMZ.com.
Tax officials reportedly served the former 90210 actress with the bill on 22 March (10), days before she was voted off hit U.S. TV show Dancing With The Stars.
A spokesperson for Doherty says the bill will "be taken care of promptly".
The sexy stars found themselves in the bottom two of the contest, despite receiving good scores from the judges on Monday (29Mar10).
It was Doherty who discovered her time on the dancing show was over - and she revealed her professional partner, Mark Ballas, was nursing a serious leg injury which would have ruled him out of the series.
She says, "I think dancing isn't really my thing. I'm an actor and it's what I love to do. I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted and I think it's kind of fate that my partner is hurt and he's out for six weeks and, to be honest, I wouldn't want to go on without Mark."
Actress Shannen Doherty has hit out at Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, insisting they deserve to get negative press for flashing photographers without wearing underwear.
The 37-year-old star was branded a 'bad girl' during her stint on hit U.S. teen show Beverly Hills 90210, during the height of her acting career in the 1990s.
But she insists her own outlandish behavior never matched that of Spears and Lohan, who have been snapped in a series of photographs without their knickers.
She says, "You know, you play a character; people perceive you as the character. I guess it means I did my job. But what did I do?! I went out. I was 18 years old! At 18, you're going to sorority parties. I just did it in the public eye.
"I certainly wasn't showing my crotch. Just because I was on 90210 didn't mean that I didn't get to have my own real life experiences. You have to live somewhat normally."
And Doherty says she's already made plans to settle far away from the limelight, where she hopes to start a family.
She adds: "I'm just a normal person who likes to play with my dogs and ride my horses. I dream of moving back to the South every single day of my life now. I'm actually looking at places in Mississippi and Tennessee... I definitely want a child. Or two. Not sure on the two."

Actress Shannen Doherty insists her wild-child past has nothing on the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan--because she could never be as outrageous as them.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star was caught up in a string of scandals in her heyday, but she doesn't think any of her exploits match up to those of Hollywood's current bad girls.
She says, "It's so funny to me because, looking back at the stuff I did back then, it was just part of the growing up process.
"Compared to what the girls do now it's kind of mild. Now they're making porno tapes and they're doing all sorts of things... I would have to go live in Alaska (if I did that)."

Charmed stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan are thrilled the magical series is ending after eight seasons, because they were so badly treated by bosses at America's WB network.
The show, which also included Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty, made history as the longest-running TV series featuring multiple female leads, but that wasn't enough to keep it on air - and the stars couldn't be happier.
Combs, who plays Piper on the show, says, "We were never treated that well. We were never promoted properly by the network."
While McGowan, who plays witch Paige, adds, "Then, the network dishonors us by saying we were cancelled, axed, cut.
"This last thing about being cancelled seems like the last annoying p**sing match going on with the show. It was extremely rude."
Both actresses insist their contracts ran out after the current season, and they didn't plan to return to the show anyway.
McGowan adds, "There was nothing to cancel. They didn't have us... Instead, we continue to get treated like the ugly stepchild of the network. Anyway, I'm proud of what we accomplished."
