Actor Columbus Short has been arrested after missing two court appearances in connection to his domestic violence case. The Scandal star became a fugitive last month (Jul14) when he missed one hearing in California due to his party plans in Barbados, and he was still there on Wednesday (20Jul14) when he was scheduled to appear again.
He was arrested and taken into custody in Van Nuys upon his return to the U.S. on Thursday, according to TMZ.com.
His bail was increased to $500,000 (GBP294,000) after he failed to make it to court on Wednesday.
And Short's problems continue - his bail in another case has been set at $250,000 (GBP147,000) after he failed to show up at a hearing in a criminal case involving a bar fight.
The actor couldn't appear because he was in custody for failure to show at his Wednesday court date.
Justin Bieber's entourage has cost a Niagra Falls border patrol guard her job after she allegedly accepted a $10,000 (GBP5,900) bribe to let members with criminal records enter his native Canada from the U.S. last year (13). The official reportedly grabbed cash and backstage passes and agreed to let the entire entourage pass through customs prior to Bieber's Toronto shows.
According to TMZ.com, the accusations surfaced after more of Bieber's friends allegedly showed up at the border looking for the same special treatment.
The Canada Border Services agency reportedly circulated an internal memo reminding officers not to take bribes - and to report anyone who does.
Bieber and his representatives have yet to comment on the story.

Guns N' Roses spin-off supergroup Kings Of Chaos are swelling their ranks by recruiting Steven Tyler and Zz Top star Billy Gibbons for upcoming dates in South Africa. The part-time collective, which features Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke, has lined up two shows in Sun City and Cape Town in November and December (14), and the core trio is taking some big names.
The Kings of Chaos evolved out of the Rock 'N' Roll Allstars, an 11-piece outfit that included Gene Simmons and Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott.
The line-up for South Africa will also feature Cheap Trick's Robin Zander and Extreme star Nuno Bettencourt.
Sorum, who was also a member of McKagan and Slash's supergroup Velvet Revolver, recently told Blabbermouth.net that the Kings of Chaos could easily become a priority for him, stating, "I'm at that stage of my career where I haven't really got the energy to go and try and create a band. I mean, how many bands do I have in my back pocket? I'd rather just get a bunch of great guys together that everybody knows and go and play a bunch of shows to 60,000 people.
"Even Velvet Revolver, it took us 18 months to build that up, and we were on the road, like, 20-year-old kids... I don't really want to go on the road for 18 months anymore, which will basically kill you, unless you're doing hard drugs and I don't do hard drugs anymore, and I don't drink anymore, and the rest of it's just kind of boring.
"I'd rather go and do great festivals and do two or three-week tours - go out and just have a blast and then go home and then think about the next thing."
Fired frontman Scott Weiland recently joked about auditioning for the his own vacant spot in Velvet Revolver, leading fans to think the band was active again after six years, but bassist McKagan recently shot down the rumours, insisting there were no immediate plans to restart to hunt for a new singer.
Richie Sambora, Tico Torres and David Bryan accepted Bon Jovi leader Jon Bon Jovi's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by dunking freezing water over their heads. The former bandmates took the plunge to raise awareness about the condition and raise funds for the ALS Association after Bon Jovi nominated them to follow his example at the weekend (16-17Aug14), when he recruited New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to tip an ice bucket over his head at a garden party.
Celebrities have been taking the challenge, filming it, posting the footage online and nominating famous friends to follow suit for weeks, boosting the charity's coffers and raising awareness about ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease.
Sambora, who quit Bon Jovi last year (13), took the challenge in his back garden and nominated his reported guitarist girlfriend Orianthi and "friends and fans around the world" to follow his lead, while Gavin DeGraw and Ryan Cabrera were picked by keyboard player Bryan after he was dunked in his swimming pool.
Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres posted his Ice Bucket Challenge on the band's Facebook page and nominated Alice Cooper, who took the opportunity to cool off on Wednesday (20Aug14) when he was chilled onstage during a concert in Virginia Beach.
He nominated tour co-headliners Motley Crue and movie star pal Johnny Depp to take the plunge. Motley Crue quickly accepted Cooper's challenge with their own onstage dunking, and named Aerosmith, Def Leppard and Kiss to follow suit.
Paul Stanley has already accepted on behalf of Kiss, insisting he'll take on the challenge on Friday (22Aug14).
Cooper is also hoping to raise more money for the ALS Association by selling the stars and stripes T-shirt he was wearing when he was iced onstage and the bathrobe he changed into backstage to raise cash for the cause.
Almost a year has passed since the tragic end of the Jonas Brothers, yet we still can’t seem to accept the fact that this trio is no more. I mean, they’re brothers, right!? They can’t just break up! Since apparently they were serious about ending the band last October, does this make my autographed kickball that I won during the “Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009” more valuable? I was told there were only 40 others in the world, so it’s practically the equivalence of gold (just kidding.. I could never part with it). BUT on a happy note, we can expect a good year for Nick Jonas.
After releasing his new song and video “Chains,” he continues to post photos from rehearsals and our anticipation keeps building and building. We expect a list of tour dates in the near future, Nick!
In honor of all fangirls hearts still being broken, we’d like to take a moment of silence and remember the good times with Nick, Joe and Kevin:
When Nick stared out to the crowd and we all fell to our knees sobbing uncontrollably.
Then they would do cool tricks to keep us screaming our heads off.
Kevin was almost too flawless on J.O.N.A.S.
When the “Pom Poms” video came out and we all died a little when Nick got down with the groove.
Every interview they've ever done was better than the last. God, we just miss these faces.
This exact quote came out of our mouths. More than once. Maybe 15 times. Give or take 30.
This beautiful face. How can you not miss this beautiful face?
We miss when they would make the most random yet beautifully concepted videos in the world. Bounce... just bounce.
These darn boys and their shenanigans!
Nick playing drums was always a favorite of ours. So much in fact that we would record it and watch it a hundred times on the drive home.
Then their flawlessness was broadcasted for everyone to enjoy when they appeared on “Saturday Night Live."
Joe had some killer moves.
Basically, this was us. Except the entire wall was covered. And part of the ceiling. Okay, maybe majority of the ceiling.
Sometimes Nick smiled with his teeth and even kittens cried in awe.
As much as we loved Demi Lovato, no. Back off of our man.
Right back atchya Kev.
Farewell boys, it’s been a great ride.
We’re going to continue crying in a corner now and pray this is just the worst and longest joke to ever exist. After we watch the 3D Concert Experience and Camp Rock.
Actor Bradley Pierce has opened up about his own struggle with depression following the death of his Jumanji co-star Robin Williams. Pierce remembers Williams, who was struggling with depression when he passed away on 11 August (14), as an inspiration and has credited his death for helping him go public with his own mental health battle.
He tells TMZ.com, "He was an absolute inspiration to me, just like he was to everyone that knew him and even so many people that didn't. He was an amazing guy and he'll definitely be missed.
"I was diagnosed with depression when I was 16, a few years after I filmed Jumanji, and I've been secretly fighting it for a long time. I have a few close friends who know about it, my wife knows about it, but I really played it close to the vest until Robin died actually and then I decided, 'You know what, I'm going to go ahead and try to use his death and the tragedy that it was to open up to people and put it out there,' and so I did."
British comedian Roy 'Chubby' Brown has been fined after he was caught reading a newspaper while driving his car. The 69-year-old funnyman was caught on camera flicking through a U.K. tabloid while driving his Lexus on a road in North Yorkshire, England in May (14).
Brown, real name Royston Vasey, was handed a $51 (£30) penalty during a hearing at Northallerton Magistrates' Court in England on Wednesday (20Aug14). He was also given four points on his driving licence and ordered to pay $68 (£40) in costs and a victim surcharge of $34 (£20).
TV actress Melissa Joan Hart and her husband have created a clothing line for young boys. The Sabrina the Teenage Witch star and her husband of 11 years Mark Wilkerson were inspired to create the line while raising their three sons, who are aged between eight and 23 months.
They have teamed up with children's designer Souad Acha to create the collection, named King of Harts.
A statement on the website reads, "Having three young sons, they (Hart and Wilkerson) noticed a lack of cool, casual and functional clothing options. After brainstorming with friends and family with similar frustrations, they were motivated to launch their own hip kids line to give parents inspiration for dressing their littles (sic)."
The range, which features casual jeans, T-shirts, and shorts, will be available online from October (14).
