Women look at three factors to determine if a guy is husband material: his sense of humor, the way he treats his mother, and how he is around your children (if you have no kids yet then replace "children" with your pet). Men, take notes because ladies pay a lot of attention to to those three parts of your personalities. And this isn't just true for some women -- it goes for ALL women, including our favorite Hollywood celebs. In an interview for the October issue of Marie Claire, Reese Witherspoon gushes about her new hubby, Jim Toth, and that one of the best things about him is that he gets along well with her children. She tells the magazine, "I got lucky. I did. I got very lucky. He's so wonderful with the children. I'm very blessed." The couple began dating in January 2010 and got married this past March.
After divorcing Ryan Phillippe in 2007, Reese had to learn what it was like to be a single parent and admitted, "Until I got remarried, I don't think I realized how stressed I was. I feel so much relief. I don't think I realized how stressed I was being a single parent. It was really, really stressful. It's not easy on anybody. It's really traumatic." Thankfully, she's won't have to worry about getting overwhelmed anymore, but she wasn't sure this day would ever come or that she'd be able to find a man who would accept her kids. She confided that she legitimately feared she'd never love anyone again because she had children and explained, "Somebody close to me once said, 'Oh, no man will ever accept your children.' And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life." But now Reese has found a great guy who treats her kids like they're his own and she's in complete married bliss, which means she probably kissed the friendship she had with whoever said that hateful comment goodbye for good. Remember this gentlemen -- the way to any woman's heart is through her kids (although chocolate and jewelry doesn't hurt either).
