Alex, Elisa, Delia and Ken are four hip teenagers whose non-conformist attitude, retro style of dress and interest in bowling and lounge music have always made them outcasts among their classmates. The four teens are thrust into the town's spotlight when it is announced that a bowling match will be the tie-breaker in the last annual competition between West and East Appleton as the fate of the highly coveted "Golden Apple" trophy is placed on their shoulders. The group learns that Todd McLemore, the most popular and athletic kid in their school, must be a part of the bowling team. Although he has never worn a pair of bowling shoes in his life, the teens must set aside their differences and learn to win the trophy and the adoration of West Appleton. The kids come to realize that they can still keep their individual identity while being part of a team.
