Synopsis:
Holiday drama based on Truman Capote's short story about a young boy's friendship with his much older cousin as they prepare for their last Christmas together in late November 1934. Buddy has been raised by his older cousins in a quaint community in Alabama where his mother left him two years ago. The cousins, in their 50's and 60's, have almost no experience with children, with the exception of Sook, the eldest. Sook, with her childlike sense of wonder, becomes Buddy's best friend and they share an idyllic holiday season together before Buddy is sent away to military school by the other cousins.
