Synopsis:
Dr. Phil confronts a couple whose excessive drinking threatens them and their childrens lives.Shellye, a mother of three, began to drink excessively as a coping mechanism to deal with her son's physical disability that requires him to be on a ventilator in order to breathe. Her husband Jake, also a heavy drinker, has on occasion in the past, abused Shellye both physically and emotionally. Dr. Phil meets head-on with this couple who confess to dangerous behavior while under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Once Dr.Phil brings the couple to admit to their addictions, he works with them to determine a course of treatment that could literally save all of their family's lives.
