Synopsis:
Consists of four separate stories featuring women who are dealing with the unexpected twists and turns that life takes. In each story, one of the women is seeing psychiatrist Dr. Beth Noonan, who attempts to help each of them succesfully make a major transition in their lives, while Dr. Noonan struggles to do the same in her own life.

In the first story, "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing," Lauren, a successful attorney, suddenly finds herself attracted to Casey, a high-powered advertising executive. The unexpected romance causes Lauren to redefine her view of relationships and her own sexuality.

The second story, "The Three Sisters," centers around three sisters, Kim, Kathy and Helen, whose lives are thrown into upheaval when their controlling mother, Josephine, passes away. In her will she stipulates that in order for the sisters to receive their multi-million dollar inheritances, they must return to their childhood home and live there together for one week under constant surveillance and with no privacy, not setting foot outside. Through a series of events, the sisters rediscover their love for one another and gain something more valuable than money.

In the third story, "Unholy Alliances," Nia suspects that her husband, Paul, is cheating on her. She hires Rachel to set a trap for him, but instead Rachel discovers that he is having an affair with Betty, a waitress at the bar where they have met. The three women get together and hatch a plan to give Paul a taste of his own medicine.

In the fourth story, "I'm OK, It's You I'm Not Too Sure About," Suzanne is a new patient of Dr. Noonan's who is seriously disturbed. When Suzanne threatens her, Dr. Noonan terminates their relationship, which sends an unstable Suzanne over the edge. Brandishing a gun, Suzanne holds Noonan, the doctor's next patient, Alex, and her secretary Lani captive. After a struggle, Suzanne is knocked unconscious. Dr. Noonan sees Suzanne for whom she really is, a scared and lonely woman who has led a very isolated life and whom she doesn't have the heart to turn in.
