Synopsis:
Cal, a high-school superintendent, relocates to his hometown of Bethlehem, Kentucky, to investigate the troubled high school's finances. With his sullen niece Fern in tow, Cal moves in with his Korean-War veteran father Jake. Cal's calculations reveal that the school music program must be cut to save the school from going bankrupt. However, Cal's decision is complicated when he falls in love with Lily, the music teacher.
