Synopsis:
A star-studded salute to American comedian Bob Hope. The special was taped January 2, 1988 at the opening of the Bob Hope Cultural Center in Palm Desert, California. At the close of the special, Ronald Reagan presented Hope with the first "America's Hope Award." The award is slated to be given annually to some person deemed to exemplify "the spirit of America."
