Synopsis:
Documentary explores the American Western film genre -- its myths, lengend, heroes, stars, history and impact on culture. The installments include: "A Liar's Frontier" which examines the conventions, lies and delusions of the genre; "The Hanging Tree" looks at the moral lessons taught in Westerns; "Western Whitewash" reveals racial distortions in Western movies; and "Big Guns Talk" contemplates the impact of the Western on American culture in the 1990s.
