Synopsis:
Examines "cold cases" -- homicides and other crimes that go unsolved. In Madison, Wisconsin, the body of a teenaged girl is discovered in the woods. Her hands are missing making identification almost impossible. This program follows the detective's trail to Milwaukee where officers get a first hand look into the Black Gangster Disciples. The final piece of the puzzle comes from a 3-year-old boy who saw enough to send his father to prison for the girl's death. In Griffen, Georgia, 23-year-old Beverly Eller is found brutally murdered Christmas Eve morning. Nine years later police get a hint on a fingerprint found at the murder scene. Walter Leonard is interrogated, charged and convicted in Eller's death. Leonard provides his side of the story: how his print got on a beer bottle in Eller's apartment and why he is serving a life sentence for a crime he did not commit. The forensics team had used cutting-edge science to lift the print, refusing to let the murder grow cold.
