Synopsis:
After the death of Gwen Huby, her family discovers that she has left her estate to her son Alexander, who disappeared in Italy during WWII. Alexander must claim the inheritance by 2010 or the money will go to a charity with dubious politics. When Alexander arrives to collect the inheritance, he is called an imposter by the rest of the family. The quest for the truth finds Dalziel and Pascoe uncovering dark family secrets, including murder, betrayal, mad dogs, gay bars, young love and a revealing birthmark.
