Synopsis:
An Englishman living in Switzerland falls in love with the daughter of a wealthy industrialist. At frequent dinner parties, which the Englishman is invited to attend, the millionaire exploits the greed of his guests by offering valuable gifts if they perform humiliating and, ultimately, life-threatening deeds. This "Great Performances" production is based on the novel by Graham Greene.
