Synopsis:
A troubled family struggles to stay together after a fatal accident. Leah Garr is a working mother trying to find enough time for her taxing career, her husband Marcus and 12-year-old daughter Robin. Leah's strained relationship with Marcus compels Robin to retreat to summer camp. While at camp, Robin cajoles a timid Amelia into swimming across the lake and Amelia drowns. In an attempt to heal and comfort her daughter, Leah thinks about a transfer to Chicago where the family can start over. While Leah is away in Chicago, a woman named Dorothy enters the Garrs' lives and begins to offer comfort and friendship to Marcus and Robin, slowly replacing Leah in their lives. When Dorothy's attachment to Robin takes a bizarre turn, Leah must fight to keep her family together.
