Synopsis:
Bob Alman is a 32-year-old Detroit auto worker who has been hand-picked by the Devil, in a deal with God, to prove that mankind is worth saving. Thus, as Bob copes with the daily stress of work and family, he must also wage a constant battle between good and evil. To complicate matters, only Bob and his lovable six-year-old son, Andy, can actually see God and the Devil, so none of his family or friends believe that he is now a "messenger of God." This leads to numerous conflicts for Bob, who is riddled with human flaws. To make matters worse, he is easily influenced by the Devil and his henchman Smeck, who appear to Bob at the most inopportune moments and in a variety of guises designed to lure Bob into temptation. Meanwhile, Bob's wife Donna must juggle her family responsibilities while trying to further her education. And his 13-year-old daughter, Megan, teetering between child- and adulthood, is not particularly pleased to have a prophet for a father.
