Synopsis:
Probably Shakespeare's last play, and possibly a collaboration with the younger playwright John Fletcher, this elaborate pageant play chronicles part of the reign of one of England's most flamboyant monarchs, with emphasis on the machinations of Cardinal Wolsey, the divorce of Katharine of Aragon, the marriage to Anne Boleyn, and the birth of the daughter who was to become the great Queen Elizabeth I.
