Synopsis:
The marriage of Horatio to Maria is a dubious occasion, with the bride happily in love and the groom worried about whether marriage was the right path for the perilous life of a seaman. With little time for celebration, Horatio and the HMS Hotspur are quickly called back to France in pursuit of a missing ship known as the Grasshopper which may be integral to Napoleon's ever-growing war plans. Shortly after embarking on their return voyage to France, the Hotspur comes across a pair of travellers in a rowboat who make clear that they are unaffiliated with France and who are taken onboard, much to the distrust of the ship's crew members. More curious happenings follow the incident, as the Hotspur finds the Grasshopper in ruins, a condition which only proves to be a ploy for attack. After fending off their crafty assailants, it soon becomes clear that the Hotspur's new passengers are more than who claim to be, and their ties to Napoleon are far greater than could have been imagined.
