Synopsis:
A dramatization of a tragic part of U.S. history in which the leader of the Nez Perce Indians refused to take his tribe to a reservation in 1877, trying instead to lead them to safety in Canada, with the cavalry in pursuit trying to stop the escape. Emmy Award nominations went to writers Jeb Rosebrook and Theodore Strauss and to editor Robert K. Lambert.
