Synopsis:
The series, set in California, relates the misadventures of two families, the Longs--Jack, a divorced sporting goods store owner, his mother Ruth, and his two children, Carol and Johnny--and their across the-street neighbors, the Townsends--Sharon, Jack's ex-wife who has recently remarried, and her second husband, Neal. Focal point of the series are the efforts of Jack and Sharon to live their own individual lives while sharing custody of their children.
