Synopsis:
The story, set in Bypass, North Carolina, follows the misadventures of Kudzu DuBose, a small town teenager growing up in the south and hoping to become a writer. In the pilot episode, Kudzu's attempts to write an article about his war-hero father leads him to uncover the truth: his father was really a no-account drifter who deserted his family fifteen years earlier.
