Synopsis:
When a high school biology teacher learns that a New Mexican army base is being decontaminated before demolition, he rushes to the fort with urgent information about a top secret experiment his mother was involved in during the 1950s. At his urging, the base commander authorizes the opening of a secret vault which contains a deadly organism discovered and bred by the teacher's biological father, an organism consisting of tendrils which feed on light and warmth and devour everything in its path. With the help of a hazmat specialist, whose husband is one of the first victims of the organism, the teacher learns he's immune to the creature and, with the hazmat specialist's help, figures out how to stop its growth and save the world.
