Synopsis:
Two live concerts of arias, ensembles, and orchestral works are telecast from the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House in one day (matinee and evening) to celebrate the company's 100th birthday. The Metropolitan Opera's first performance occured on October 22, 1883, at the Old Metropolitan Opera House, with a performance of Gounod's "Faust."
