Synopsis:
In the town of Chipping Cleghorn, an ad in the local paper offers up a curious advertisement announcing a very specific murder, the event to be held that coming Friday, at a specific time, at a specific public place. When everyone gathers at the advertised Little Paddocks on Friday to determine whether this is indeed a hoax or a joke gone too far, the lights go out, and an unannounced man comes in to fire his pistol three times in the dark. Miss Marple, who happens in town visiting a friend, naturally gets the urge to investigate.
