Synopsis:
A 16-year-old girl schemes to keep her parents together when she mistakenly suspects that they are about to divorce. Nik Faulkner is turning 16 and is contending with braces, her father's downsized employment, demanding infant twin brothers and a schoolgirl crush. It all crescendos into the "horrible year" of her young life when she becomes convinced that her parents are divorcing. Nik also believes that her Aunt Marion, lonely after the recent death of her husband, has set her sights on her father. With the support of best friends Babyface and Mouse, Nik prepares for her 16th birthday while devising a plan to renew her parents' romance and perhaps spark a new one with a cute transfer student in her class.
