Synopsis:
Live coverage of the 18th New York City Marathon, America's largest and most prestigious marathon in terms of both participants and spectators. The 26-mile race is run through New York City's five boroughs -- Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. The New York City marathon is the only annual marathon to be covered live from start to finish on network television. Also included in the coverage are three special segments, featuring Barry Manilow, who performs the television premiere of his new single, comedian Jackie Mason and pianist/song stylist Bobby Short.
