Synopsis:
Adaptation of the classic novel follows a shipwrecked man and his loyal manservant as they struggle to survive on an island fraught with natural and man-made perils. Program examines his life in England and the events and relationships that led to his doomed voyage; his isolated early experiences after washing ashore; and the later interactions he has with a handful of others as he makes the best life he can for himself on the lonely island.
