Synopsis:
A journey down Route 66, the two-lane road that once stretched from Chicago to Santa Monica, California (with a little dip into Oklahoma and passage across the Texas panhandle). Supplanted for more than 25 years by express highways, Route 66 is a ribbon of emotion and memory stretching halfway across the country. When Route 66 opened in 1926, it offered the growing hordes of drivers a safe and paved way to travel America.
