Synopsis:
Documentary about beauty. Part 1, "Sex Signs," looks at the laws of beauty and how "attractive" in all cultures means symmetry, meaning that the more alike the left and right sides of the face are, the more attractive it is found, regardless of race or gender. Part 2, "Face Value," examines scientific research that reveals that if someone looks good we think they are good, intelligent, successful and popular. Part 3, "Makers and Fakers," explores the ways in which people are prepared to suffer for beauty.
