Synopsis:
A widow and her son search for the meaning of Christmas in 1905. Rose Cameron is trying to cope with her husband's death but her mortgage is overdue, she has only a few cattle to sell and her 5-year-old son, Toby, is running a high fever. Then, Harry Withers, a lone rider, shows up on her farm. Rose leaves Harry in charge while she takes Toby to town to see a doctor. Things go from bad to worse when Rose can't convince tha banker, Gotch, to forestall foreclosure proceedings on her farm. Harry tries to help and a spark begins to develop between them. But Harry has a past and is recognized by someone. Harry strikes a deal with the banker that puts his own future in jeopardy but brightens the holiday season for much of the town.
