Synopsis:
The report examines the Strategic Defense Initiative -- commonly known as "Star Wars" -- the Reagan administration's plan to develop and deploy a system of space-based weapons designed to defend the United States from attack by intercontinental ballistic missles. The documentary combines background information, expert opinion, debate, and excerpts from a conference sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.
