Synopsis:
Profile of Hollywood agent Jay Bernstein. As a youngster growing up in Oklahoma, Bernstein considered acting, but he figured he wasn't handsome enough to land a leading role. Since he refused to settle for second in anything, he moved to Los Angeles in the late 1950s to find his own niche in Hollywood. In the years to follow, Bernstein excelled as a PR agent for countless celebrities, including Farrah Fawcett and Suzanne Somers. But his glory days were numbered when both Fawcett and Somers fired him in 1979. Devastated, Bernstein threatened to commit suicide and locked himslef into a hotel room with a loaded gun for three days.
