Synopsis:
Television movie about the 1981 attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan and the backstage battle for control of the White House in his absence. The story focuses on the attempts of Reagan's cabinet members to control the press, the Soviets and each other in the chaotic 24 hours after the President was shot. Secretary of State Alexander Haig, one of the most ambitious cabinet members, incorrectly declares himself in charge when Reagan is shot.
