Synopsis:
A look at the art of contemporary African-American humor. The program celebrates the most influential contemporary African-American comedians and explores their impact on the world of show business and stand-up comedy. The program features profiles of Richard Pryor, Whoopi Goldberg and Chris Rock; explores the success of "The Original Kings of Comedy" tour with Cedric "The Entertainer," Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac; and examines the influence of hip hop comedy on pop culture, which begins with Russell Simmons' "Def Comedy Jam" and is epitomized by comedians such as Chris Tucker, Dave Chappelle and Tony Rock.
