Synopsis:
The ninth annual awards/entertainment special honoring six distinguished artists for lifetime achievement in their area of endeavor. The event, taped at the Opera House of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., honors actress and comedienne Lucille Ball, singer and composer Ray Charles, actors Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, musician Yehudi Menuhin, and choreographer Antony Tudor.
