Synopsis:
Over the Christmas of 1183, King Henry II of England brings together his treacherous family members - his wife, Queen Eleanor of Acquataine, newly released from prison for attempting to stage a coup; his beautiful, shameless mistress Alais and her scheming brother, King Philip of France; and his three sons, Princes Richard, Geoffrey and John, all with political, filial and fraternal axes to grind - to settle once and for all the question of who will succeed him as ruler of the kingdom.
