Synopsis:
On April 5, 1968 - one night after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. - James Brown was scheduled to perform at Boston's City Hall. After considering cancellation, Boston's Mayor is convinced by some of the cities' most influential dj's to go on with the show. Since much of the country has erupted in violence, he hopes that people wil stay home and watch the concert on television. The story is told through rarely seen footage of the concert, personal stories of James Brown's band members, colleagues, concert-goers, Boston city government officials and several influential observers of African-American history.
