Synopsis:
This '40s private eye movie spoof (a series pilot) casts Bess Armstrong as a flippant, somewhat klutzy female detective who sets out to track down the killer of an obnoxious mystery writer (Jose Ferrer). Celeste Holm is her flamboyant mother, a one-time Hollywood starlet, and Howard Duff is the latter's live-in lover, a movie has-been who now runs a memorabilia shop.
