Synopsis:
Documentary special that sheds light on three groups of soldiers whose efforts have gone largely unnoticed, except to the fellow comrades with whom they fought. The crews of B-29s suffered wholesale deaths in hurry-up testing programs, bombed at low altitudes with no guns to protect themselves, and suffered unspeakable treament as POWs. Navy Hospital Corpsmen saved the lives of thousands of soldiers wounded in battle, often sacrificing their own in the process. During the Vietnam War, one hundred thirty-five news photographers were killed as they attempted to tell the story with pictures.
