Synopsis:
Documentary that profiles eight different elephants, all of whom have lived in captivity, from circuses, to zoos, to hard labor. Highlights include a 52-year-old female that encounters other elephants for the first time in 25 years. The program underscores the intelligence and social complexity of these creatures, which inhabit an alien world and face an uncertain future.
