Synopsis:

The story, an update of the 1959-63 series "Dobie Gillis," reunites the original cast in an unsold pilot that continues to depict events in the life of Dobie Gillis, a once-indecisive teenager who is now married, the father of a teenage son, and partners with his father in an expanded Gillis Grocery Store. In the pilot episode, which is basically a reintroduction of the cast, Dobie's friend Maynard, the former beatnick, is now an entrepreneur and returns to help Dobie celebrate his 40th birthday.
