Synopsis:
Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby tries to figure out the identity of a murdered villager. The man was known as the secretary of Midsomer's writer's circle, but no marriage certificate, no relatives and no national insurance number can be found. The woman who was in love with him reports seeing a mysterious blond woman arrive at his house two nights before the murder.
