Synopsis:
A rambunctious 11-year-old, raised in Las Vegas, has problems staying out of trouble in the various private schools in which she's enrolled. After Minerva is kicked out of another school, she returns home to her uncle Howie, who is quite exasperated over the situation. They find out that if Minerva fails to pass the entrance exam for a girls school in Boston, Howie's humorless sister Hermione will gain custody of Minerva. A solution seems possible when, through a series of comic circumstances, an unorthodox mathamatics professor agrees to tutor Minerva.
