We’re not lying: The Lying Game is over.

Alexandra Chando, the star of the ABC Family drama, has confirmed via Instagram that the show will not be returning for a third season, leaving Bunheads as the network’s only series whose renewal is undetermined. The young actress’ post reads: “To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons. Unfortunately, ABC Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what’s next for us!”

With competition from ABC Family’s newest summer series The Fosters and Twisted raking in the numbers, the series’ moderate ratings left its fate hanging in the balance- until now. The honest truth is that the show, based on the book series by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard, never lived up to the high bar set by PLL. Sorry, Sara, but your addictive first series just can’t be topped.
